The joint celebration of the International Day of Cooperatives and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Iran Chamber of Cooperatives (ICC) attended by high-level officials from Iran’s government and parliament, and also, Iranian members of ICA and a large number of Iranian cooperators was held in solidarity with the International Cooperative Movement on July 9th, 2019 at IRIB International Conference Center, Tehran.

At this ceremony, the president of the Iran Chamber of Cooperatives, the Spokesman of the Government, the Minister of Economic and Finance, members of the presidium of the Iranian parliament and chairman of the Economic Commission of the Iranian Parliament delivered speeches on the importance of the cooperative movement in Iran. Also, during this event the message of the President of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), Mr. Ariel Guarco, and special messages from the President of the International Cooperative Alliance in the Asia-Pacific region (ICA-AP), Mr. Li Chunsheng, and the Director of the International Cooperative Alliance in the Asia-Pacific Region, Mr. Balu Iyer for Iran’s Cooperative Movement was broadcast to the audience. Also at the ceremony, Ms. Golbahar Hayati was honored as a successful cooperator and world-famous artist. The ceremony also included a panel dedicated to Decent Work and employment and entrepreneurship strategies in the Iran’s cooperative sector with the participation of Iranian members of ICA. At the end of the ceremony, after the presentation of the book “Genealogy of Cooperatives in Iran”, members of the ICA in Iran were honored by Iran Chamber of Cooperatives (ICC) for their effective role in the development of Iran’s Cooperative Movement.
