Ambassador of Italy and the President of Iran Chamber of Cooperatives met in order to expand economic interactions between the two countries’ cooperative movement according to the cooperation capacities with Legacoop (National League of Cooperatives and Mutuals)
Italian Ambassador in I.R.Iran, Mr. Giuseppe Parrone met with Mr. Bahman Abdollahi, President of Iran Chamber of Cooperatives (ICC), in order to promote and expand economic interactions in the cooperative sector.
President of ICC, while welcoming Italian Ambassador, introduced the capabilities of the cooperative sector in Iran and said: “Cooperatives in Iran are very old and we can cooperate in various economic sectors such as agriculture, industry, petrochemicals, handicrafts and construction”.
Referring to the interest of ICC in expanding cooperation with Italian cooperatives (Legacoop), Abdollahi said: “According to the plans, a memorandum of understanding is to be concluded with the aim of expanding further cooperation between Legacoop and ICC.”
President of ICC, referring to the outbreak of the Corona virus, said: “In a pandemic situation, we can use the virtual communication capacities with Italian cooperatives, and then we can focus on accepting and dispatching business delegations”.
At this meeting, it was decided that the Commercial Counselor of the Italian Embassy and the International Affairs Manager of ICC will hold webinars to expand the interactions between Iran and Italy.
In this meeting, the head of women commission, head of industry and mining commission, head of continuous improvement of business environment commission, head of handicrafts commission, head of handmade carpets and tourism commission and the representative of the agriculture commission of ICC were present and introduced the capacities of their related sector.
