The ambassador of Bulgaria and the president of the Iran Chamber of Cooperatives met and discussed in order to expand the economic interactions of the two countries according to their capacities and capabilities.
According to the ICC News Agency, Bahman Abdollahi, the president of the Iran Chamber of Cooperatives, while welcoming the Bulgarian ambassador, introduced the capabilities of the cooperative sector in Iran and stated: Cooperatives are of high social position in Iran and most of the products produce by the cooperative sector.
He continued: The economy in Iran includes of cooperative, public and private sectors, and the country’s constitution emphasizes the development of cooperatives.
The president of the Iran Chamber of Cooperatives stated: because of the country’s legal capacities, the support of cooperatives in the world is the first priority, and cooperation has been specially emphasized both in our cultural point of view and religious teachings.
Abdollahi said: since cooperative sectors have played significant role in country production, Iran Chamber of Cooperatives requests for increasing bilateral commercial relations between Iran and Bulgaria.
The president of the Iran Chamber of Cooperatives declared: We have a cordial relationship with the cooperative sector of Bulgaria since the past few years.
He stated: the purpose of this meeting is increasing interactions with the cooperative sector and increasing the volume of trades with Bulgaria as well.
Abdollahi said: As an example, we can say that the petrochemical and plastic industries, are ready to meet the needs of Bulgaria in the steel industry sector.
He said: We also have a good capacity in the field of agriculture, and about 65% of agricultural production is done in the cooperative sector.
In terms of production, we are one of the largest producers of pistachios and also one of the largest exporters of pistachios in the world. Also, one of the products that is known in the world as Iran entity is hand-woven carpet, and the Iranian carpet is unique in the world, and a large part of its production is produced by the cooperatives.
He emphasized: Due to the good political relations with Bulgaria, we have the ability to increase the level of economic cooperation.
Ms. Nikolina Kuneva, Ambassador of Bulgaria, while expressing her satisfaction at being present at the Iran Chamber of Cooperatives, said: We have a high capacity in production and services and we can use your experiences in the field of retail sales, services and agriculture.
Referring to the experience of both countries, she added: the exchange of knowledge and experience between both countries can be considered as an important step to expand interactions.
The ambassador of Bulgaria pointed out that it is important to fully understand the capabilities of the parties and we should be able to find the interests of the two countries and expand the fields of cooperation.
She also said: transportation of goods is very important and we must plan to facilitate it.
In another part of this meeting, the president of the Iran Chamber of Cooperatives stated that the recognition of this country’s capabilities is the prerequisite of the establishment of a broad relationship with Bulgaria and said: having more collaboration is essential for increasing interactions.
He continued: We expect the ambassador of Bulgaria to provide the basis for cooperation for having more interaction between the economic activists of the two countries.
Abdollahi stated: One of the ways to get to know the capacities of the two countries is to hold an exhibition in Iran and Bulgaria, and to dispatch and accept business delegations.
He said: “Increasing the commercial exchanges of the cooperatives of the two countries and the close relations of the cooperatives in the upcoming plans is our most important demand.”
In continue, the managing directors of handwoven carpet, livestock and poultry, as well as pistachios cooperatives, introduced the capacities of their fields.
Regarding to the capacity of carpet production, Bahrami, CEO of the Union of Handwoven Carpet Cooperatives, said: The largest handwoven carpet measuring 6,000 square meters was produced by the carpet cooperatives of this union.
He further announced his readiness to produce carpets in the desired dimensions and suggested holding a permanent exhibition of handwoven carpets in Sofia.
Sadeghi, CEO of the National Union of Pistachio Producers Cooperative, also stated in this meeting: Iran ranks second in pistachio production in the world, and we have been active in exporting to European countries.
Referring to the export of pistachios to Germany, he added: This union has 16 cooperatives and more than 300,000 members and is ready to expand interactions and exports to Bulgaria.
Further, Masoudi, the vice-president of the Union of Livestock, Poultry and Aquatic Feed Factories of the country, explained the capabilities and capacities of the agricultural sector and expressed: the livestock and poultry industry in our country is highly developed, and more than 11.5 million tons of milk, 3.5 million tons of chicken meat and one million tons of eggs are produced. He added: Our country has the first place in salmon production and the third place in honey production.
Referring to the need to import agricultural feed for the production of protein products, he said: By recognizing the areas of cooperation and focusing on information and mutual understanding of mutual capacities, we are ready to have more interactions with Bulgarian companies in the field of additives and vaccines.
