Development of the scope of cooperation in the field of women based business was discussed at a joint meeting with the South Africa Embassy counselor and the Secretary General of Iran Chamber of Cooperatives.
On Wednesday 25 Sep 2019, development of the scope of cooperation in the field of women based business was discussed at a joint meeting with the Secretary General of Iran Chamber of Cooperatives , Commercial Counselor of South Africa Embassy , Deputy of Economic and International Affairs , Head of Women’s Commission and the Consultant in Women’ affairs of Iran Chamber of Cooperatives.
The Commercial Counselor of South Africa Embassy emphasizing on the role and importance of women in her country, stated : ” This year has been South Africa’s 65th year of honoring women and the purpose is to say that men and women have complementary roles and they realize the economic goals with each other’s help.”
In another part of this meeting, she suggested holding a joint event on empowering women and addressing the importance of women’s role.
She also stated the acceptance and dispatching the women business delegations in order to benefit the experiences of women in the field of trade between the two countries is another considered programs for developing women based trade relations .
Ms.Sara Dien pointed out the lack of business trips of delegations to both countries and said:” dispatching business delegations will allow economic operators to be familiar with the capacities and capabilities of investing in both countries.”
She described that holding trade exhibitions is the best and the most cost-effective way to get be familiar with investing opportunities in the country.
She pointed out the attention and investing her country in the field of goods warehouses in recent years and talked about the potential and power of South Africa in this area.
she also said that South Africa could be considered as a hub for Iranian exports to the countries of African Continent.
She said: “South Africa has done a lot of works for providing infrastructure and there are land, rail and air routes of this country which can be used for export to other countries in the continent.”
At this meeting, the secretary general of Iran Chamber of Cooperatives emphasized the role of women Iran and stated:” women are honored in different times in Iran and there is a readiness to hold a joint program in this field between the two countries.
Dr .Azimi pointed out the role of export and said:” exporting products to South Africa can be performed in the form of compact and valuable commodities such as saffron, caviar, handicrafts, ornamental stones and this is one of the export advantages of Iran.
He pointed out the tourism sector and said : ” The tourism sector has capacities in all parts and proper opportunities for investing and profitability.”
The secretary general of Iran Chamber of Cooperatives informed the possibility of investing in reconstruction and renovation of ancient residential centers and said :” It should be noted that in such areas where there is no need to transport and deliver goods, it can be a pleasurable opportunity for investing.
The member of board of directors of Iran Chamber of Cooperatives pointed to the positive and growing trend of the Iranian stock market and stated: ” Capital markets, pistachios, saffron, joint ventures in the IT field, are good markets for investment and have a stable profitability.”
The Head of Women’s Commission also expressed readiness for common cooperation and holding exhibitions in the field of women and other intended activities.
The Consultant in Women’s affairs of ICC also provided statistics on the presence of women in the economic activities of the co-operative sector and stated: ” There are more than 10000 women based active cooperatives in the country .
Furthermore , there are 2 million artists in the field of handicrafts that 70% of that number consists of women.
